The 2009 Contact Alexandra Blossom Festival was a great success, with around 10,000 people enjoying the celebrations. This historic Festival has marked the arrival of spring for over 50 years. The first festival was born out of community spirit and recognition of the special character of Alexandra, and these values remain at the heart of every subsequent festival.
Alexandra is renowned for its contribution to both the stone fruit and wool industries. Special celebrations are dedicated to these industries that form the lifeblood of this small Central Otago township.
