Dunedin is a wonderful city to spend July school
holiday time with the children or grandchildren. Sunny, dry and brisk, then
take them to the Botanical Gardens to feed the ducks, play in the playground or
visit the winter garden under glass.
Wet, windy
or just too cold then the museums offer children programs and activities. Visit
Otago Museum and try out the science adventure tour, the chocolate discovery
tour, check out the school holiday program and don’t forget the animal attic or
the butterfly house.
Visit ToituOtago Settlers Museum and the Cats n Dogs exhibition.
As well meet real live rescue animals cared for by the SPCA in the
Josephine Foyer on Tuesday, 7 July from 10am – 12 noon and Thursday, 9 July
from 12 noon - 2pm. Both museums have cafes for rest and food.
Cadbury’s Chocolate Factory, Penguins on the Peninsula,
Moana Pool, and the power of the ocean at St Clair, the list goes on and on. You
will never be at a loss for places to make new friends and enjoy being together
in Dunedin.
Motel on York You’ll be
able to walk everywhere when you stay a hop skip and jump away from the Dunedin
City Library, Octagon and George Street shopping, at Motel on York.
Commodore Motel If having a wide
open space close by is important for “running off the kids energy” then stay at
the Commodore beside the Dunedin Botanic Gardens. You are still within 15 min
walk of the University and the Museum and another few minutes up to the George
St shopping.
So make
these school holidays extra special with a Host getaway. Swipe your Host Rewards Card and be in to
