You can't beat Northland as a family holiday destination, especially as the weather is getting warmer. The Bay of Islands lives up to its reputation as a haven for aquatic adventures! Take to the water with a cruise around the Bay, do a spot of fishing, try parasailing or simply relax and enjoy the beautiful bays and sheltered beaches.

In Paihia, visit the Waitangi Treaty House, where the Treaty was signed in 1840. It is a beautiful walk from Paihia to Waitangi. Once there, a guided tour or cultural performance will definitely enhance your experience. Perhaps walk from The Treaty House to Haruru Falls..this is a nice walk along a boardwalk, through a mature mangrove forest. For something even more physical, adventurous children (and adults!) will enjoy Paihia's Action World. The trapeze is a must-do! Take a picnic and make a day of it.
