HOST SUPPORT FOR NEW QUALMARK MOTEL & APARTMENT SECTORS

Host Accommodation has endorsed the new Qualmark motel and apartment sectors with its network of nearly 90 properties throughout New Zealand.

Qualmark made the decision to split the ‘Self-Contained & Serviced’ sector into two separate sectors last year to promote better understanding with consumers. As a result, the names ‘Motel’ and ‘Apartment’ now represent two new sectors.

“We fully support Qualmark in this move and believe that it helps address the needs of our stakeholders and the wider industry who have been asking for greater product differentiation” says Chris Lee, General Manager of Host Accommodation.

Brand positioning is seen by Host as being increasingly vital in a marketplace that is cluttered with product offers. Host’s bold new yellow street signage has been well received since launch last year and is helping with consumer cut through.
