Chris Lee, General Manager of Host Accommodation said “All our Host people are safe and well but as you can imagine are tired & stressed but coping remarkably well given their current circumstances. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic event. All our Christchurch/Canterbury properties are open for business other than City Central Motel Apartments while not sustaining any structural damage is closed due to its CBD location.”

Jocelyn Partridge from Milano Motor Lodge, Papanui Road, Christchurch said “We have had contact from people from all over the world who are remembering Christchurch when they visited it and offering their support. We are looking forward to a new day and hopefully with a few less challenges. We will get past this!! We are learning that water is actually gold.”

Dave Dixon from Akaroa Criterion Motel, Akaroa said “We are all fine and the infrastructure of Akaroa is not affected. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this horrific incident.”
