DISCOVER MARLBOROUGH WITH HOST!
You’ll fall in love with Marlborough’s stunning scenery, sunny climate and world-class Sauvignon blanc.
Marlborough is New Zealand’s largest wine growing country and the ideal destination for your summer holiday for so many reasons.
Not only is it one of the sunniest regions in the country, but it’s also home to more than 40 cellar doors – and you can experience them all in one place during the Marlborough Wine & Food Festival on 8 February 2014.
This popular event is held at the beautiful Brancott Vineyard and features wine tutorials, Fashion in the Vines, celebrity chef demonstrations and entertainment all day long.
Our Blenheim motels – 193 Aorangi Manor and Cherylea Motel – are the perfect place to stay during the festivities and your hosts will be only too happy to help plan your trip.
Of course, no visit to Marlborough is complete without exploring the stunning Marlborough Sounds. Enjoy a cruise, sailing trip onboard a luxury yacht or a self-guided kayak excursion. If you’re in the mood for something more active, try a spot of fishing, diving or go swimming with dolphins. The vibrant seaside village of Picton is the gateway to the Queen Charlotte track – a 70km trail renowned for its breathtaking views, historical landmarks and plethora of native bush and wildlife.
It takes between three to five days to complete on foot and requires a good level of fitness. The entire track is open to mountain biking from 1 March to 30 November and takes approximately 13 hours.
Both the AAA Marlin Motel, nestled amongst two acres of park-like grounds in the heart of Picton, and the Bay Vista Waterfront Motel, beautifully positioned on the shoreline of Waikawa Bay, are an ideal base for your Marlborough Sounds adventure.
Further afield, you can take a tour into the Marlborough High Country, visit the pink salt lakes at Lake Grasmere, and experience an action-packed visit to New Zealand’s largest working farm, Molesworth Station.
