Autumn in New Zealand

The start of Autumn signals seasonal changes around the country.  March, April and May offers slightly cooler yet usually settled weather making it a very popular time for the overseas and domestic travellers to hit the road.

Often when we think of Autumn we think of Central Otago - the Poplar trees resplendent in their Autumn glory!

Our Host properties  Colonial Manor Motel (Cromwell) and Almond Court Motel (Alexandra)  offer a very warm and inviting location for those exploring the region by car, bus or even bike!

Some key events and activities in the Central Otago region include

  • Clyde Wine and Food Harvest Festival - this is Central Otago's biggest celebration of locally produced wine and is held every year on Easter Sunday.
  • Goldrush 2 day Multisport Race - 29th March.  This event has been revamped into a 2 day multisport race including kayaking, mountain biking, running and road biking.  A swim option is also available.
  • Cromwell Golf - this 18 hole golf course is considered to be one of the best and most challenging rural courses in the South Island.  Worth a round or two.
